Meet ASHE - Paws Behind Bars Trained
ASHE was dealt a bad hand. She came to us as a stray, wandering around a golf course, when a couple of our own volunteers took her in. Adopt Me! quickly came to the "rescue."
Ashe came to us in bad condition; she was just hit by a car when found, she was losing her fur due to mange, AND she had a bad skin condition. With medicated baths and volunteers who had some extra "lovin’" to give, we have been able to nurse her back to health! She is still missing a couple patches of fur, but she is working hard to grow those back.
We don’t know much of her background, but we can’t imagine it was a good place for her. Because of that, she developed some bad habits, but she’s a good girl with great potential to succeed; we saw so much progress in our Paws Behind Bars (PBB) program.
Thanks to two of our very own volunteers, she is at a special board and train school, to hone her PBB skills and learn more. As anyone who has taken a dog through training knows, she’ll need someone to help cheer her on and advocate for her after she graduates. She picks up on training wonderfully, and she loves to do it, but she’ll need that special someone to continue to believe in her and work with her post-school. Once she graduates, if she comes back to a crate at the rescue, all that training will go out the window and her stress will overtake her. We know she is capable and much more deserving than that.
Are you the advocate she needs? We hope so!
