Meet SASSY - Paws Behind Bars Trained

SASSY is a 7-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix (She's very petite and lean and weighs 40 lbs.). She has been involved with our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program since early this year as she showed early talent for therapy work. She is now Star Puppy, AKC Canine Good Citizen, and Urban certified. She almost had placement at a school, but a proper handler could not be found. For Sassy's sake, she's back with us and waiting on a good, old fashioned forever home. She's very, very well behaved and trained. She's great with other dogs, kids, and people. She's a real treasure.

If you’re interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of our online application, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months.  We review and schedule meet and greets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received.
