Meet WINTER
WINTER is a 2-year-old female German Shepherd Dog (mix?) who weighs 62 lbs. She came to our program in a hurry when a partner shelter found her on the side of the highway. Best guess is that she got her paw stuck in a coyote trap; the skin was off from ankle down and bones were broken and exposed.
Lucky for Winter, our vet was able to salvage her leg and only had to remove a toe. Winter is now healed and ready for a new home. She is proving to be a lovely dog. She has been introduced to a leash and a kennel, and she's doing well. She is also house-trained. Her thick coat probably needs a good brushing but, after all she's been through, that's easy. She loves people and already knows some basic obedience; she is not reactive to other dogs. Winter needs to go to a home with a good fenced yard to prevent her from wandering off.
