Meet CLYDE - Paws Behind Bars Trained
CLYDE is a 10-month-old male German Shorthair/Coonhound mix. He came to us with his mother and 9 siblings earlier this year. He was adopted out, but he grew, and he grew, and he grew until he became the wrong fit for his family. A couple of remarkable things about him - his coloring is just stunning, his legs are like those of a racehorse. He's only 66 lbs and working hard to put more weight on. He is doing very well in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. He's bonded well with his inmate and waits patiently "on" his feet until he gets his next command. He is a very intelligent but sensitive dog and will need the right home. He's a sporting dog, and, while he's mastering his puppy energy, he'll need an active home with a fenced in yard. He plays nicely with other dogs so that would be good too! He's probably too big and gawky for small children.
If you’re interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of our online application, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months. We review and schedule meet and greets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received.
Please see our FAQ page for the answers to any other questions you might have regarding the adoption process.
