Thank you for considering adoption!
There are millions of homeless animals, and living with a rescued companion animal can be one of the most rewarding life experiences.
Adopt Me! Bluegrass Pet Rescue looks for permanent, loving, and committed families who will provide indoor living situations for our adoptive animals.  Our goal is to find each of the animals in our care a home to fit their specific needs.
PLEASE NOTE:  Applicant’s dog(s)/cat(s) must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives in order to be considered for adoption placement.  Applicant’s dog(s) must have updated Heartworm tests, and cat(s) must be Feline Leukemia (FeLV) negative.
We do NOT have a physical shelter facility for public animal viewing. Any potential meet and greet / adoption must have a scheduled appointment, which is arranged after the application has been approved.

If you are interested in a meet and greet or adoption with a pet after reading their bio, the submission of the application begins the process.

1.   When submitting an online application, you will receive a confirmation email.   If you have not received this email, please check your Spam Folder.  Also, add this email address to your Safe Sender List.   You can contact us via email.

2.   Adopt Me! BPR reviews applications in the order in which they are received, and an approved application will prompt an in-person meet and greet with the pet.  Kittens are highly social animals and do best when they are adopted in pairs or to a home with another social cat.  If you want to be a one cat home we often have adults that are available to be adopted solo.  Adopters wanting to adopt our kittens in pairs are given priority over solo kitten adopters.

3.   The applicant will be contacted once the review is complete, regardless of the outcome.  This may take anywhere from 24 hours to several weeks.

      a.  Once approved, and following a successful meet and greet, we will accept a $100 non-refundable deposit to allow time to prepare your home for your new dog or cat. This holds your adoption for 24 hours; we cannot hold an adoption longer and will continue with our reviews beyond this time period. The deposit will be applied toward the adoption fee.  **PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT."

      b.  If we have an approved applicant for a dog or cat, we will not continue to review remaining applications for that animal.  Animals will no longer be listed as "AVAILABLE," and the applicant, if not approved, should contact us via email.  if interested in another animal.  Applications are good for six months from the date of submission.  Once the applicant advises of interest in another animal, the appropriate team will continue the review process.

4.   An approved application does not have to be specific to the initial pet chosen in the event the pet is not available or not suitable.

5.   An approved application will remain active for 6 months after submission.

6.  Adoption fees for our Adoptables are listed below.  Please note:  These fees do not include Kentucky state sales tax, which we are required to collect.   *We reserve the right to charge an increased adoption fee for purebreds and specialty breeds.*

7.  PLEASE NOTE:  We process adoption fees through our system with a credit card; this is our preferred method of payment.  Please discuss with your Adoption Counselor should you need to pay in a different manner.  PayPal and Venmo are subject to a $10.00 processing fee.  Thank you for your understanding!

 Adult Dogs (1-7 years)     (7-10 years is $275) $325
Senior Dogs (over 10 years) $225
Puppies & Young Adults (6 weeks-1 year)  $375
Paws Behind Bars Trained  $395
Service Dogs  TBD
Adult Cats  $125
Kittens  $170

 7.  It is highly recommended that any dog(s)/cat(s) in the home meet with the adoptive dog/cat during the scheduled meet and greet to determine if they are potential suitable matches. PLEASE NOTE:  We do not adopt puppies into households with children ages two years and under.

8.  Adopt Me! BPR emphasizes the "right fit" for pairing an animal with an adoptive family, therefore, a submitted application is no guarantee of adoption.  We often receive many applications for a particular animal. When this occurs, the most appropriate home will be chosen based on our knowledge of the animal’s temperament and needs. In instances where we determine that more than one of the applicants for the same animal would be a suitable home, the applicant whose application was received first shall be approved for the animal in question, and the staff will recommend other animals with similar qualities/personalities to the other approved applicant(s).

** Think your decision over carefully and discuss it with all family members. Adoption is a commitment that is likely to extend more than 10 years. If you have any reservations, please take your time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us. You can contact us via email
