Meet CLAIRE

CLAIRE came to us extremely underweight. She was found abandoned in a rural country field. Now, after two months of careful, loving foster care, Claire is at her proper weight (approx 140 lbs). The search is on for her perfect, forever home.**

Claire is a Velcro Dane who LOVES her people! Claire is your typical “mouthy” Dane. She expresses her love and excitement with an open mouth and grumbles. To some this behavior may seem odd or even slightly intimidating; no need to worry, this is how Claire says, “I love you and trust you.” She had a bad habit of jumping up on you to say, "Hello," but that has pretty much disappeared. If handled properly and taught the rules, Claire is willing to learn.

A dog of this size needs the right home. Great Dane experience is a plus. She needs a large, fenced yard for exercise. Claire does well with easy-going, large dogs. Any dog less than 40 lbs and/or cats is a no.  Claire is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She is eager to please and redirects easily. Claire is very food motivated and has learned: sit, down, and wait, while in her foster home.  Due to Claire's very large size and strength, only a home with much older children (late teens) will be considered.
