Meet DRACO - Paws Behind Bars Trained

DRACO is a 7-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix we pulled from the shelter. He currently weighs 37 lbs and won't get much larger. He's filling out, but he's not stocky. He'd come in a month or two earlier, but a shelter is no place for a young pup to grow up. He was well cared for but struggled to cope with the loud, noisy environment. He's everything a pup should be - fun, full of energy, and ready to go play with the whole world. Once out of the shelter, Draco started to calm down and showed us a very different temperament - all puppy, all play and all happy.

We chose to make his stay with us a little longer and put him into our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. Obedience training is always a benefit and what better place to make up for lost social skills?! In no less than two weeks, we saw an even better dog! The highlight of Draco's day is pleasing his inmate by mastering one more command (how many 7 month old puppy's can hold a 3 minute place!) and playing with his cell mate puppy, Kylie (this inmate likes to work 2 at a time). If your heart is in rescuing a dog, you can be his final home, take him places, and have people stop and say what a wonderful dog you have!
