Meet KIRI
Kiri is a 14-week-old, female mixed breed puppy who came to us from a farm. When compared to her siblings, she was the smallest, so maybe she'll get to 50 lbs? She is a very sweet-natured, happy puppy who comes up for adoption with a big advantage - she is fully trained!
We have a couple of inmates in our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program who enjoy training an adult dog and a puppy at the same time. Many of our clients like to adopt a puppy while they still have an adult dog in the home because it provides a unique dynamic. The older dog really rounds out the obedience and socialization part of a puppy education.
Kiri is one lucky puppy. Her "cellmate" is a young adult male Goldendoodle, and, depending on the day, she's the better-behaved and more composed of the two. She has been schooled in sit, down, stay, and come and will shortly be tested to the AKC Star Puppy Certification Task List. House, crate, and leash-training are also skills she's mastered.
She is the perfect fit for someone wanting a nice, young dog to grow up with but doesn't have the desire to do all the "puppy basics." Remember, Kiri is still a very young dog with plenty of puppy energy, but she's coming with a solid foundation.
PLEASE NOTE: If you’re interested in adopting, our process begins with the submission of our online application, or email us if you submitted an application within the last six months. We review and schedule meet and greets (with approved applicants only) based on the order received.
Please see our FAQ page for the answers to any other questions you might have regarding the adoption process.
