Meet KNOX - Paws Behind Bars Trained
KNOX is a 1 1/2-year-old German Shorthair/Coonhound mix. He came to us with his mother and many siblings. Through no fault of his own, he adopted out as a puppy and was returned. He continued to grow (he's now 80 lbs), puppy's have energy and he's a sporting dog. Handsome, yes! but that alone is not enough. He ended up not being what his family expected.
We decided to put him through our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program where he excelled! He finally got enough food to fill out his lanky frame. He received plenty of instruction, and, even though it came in the form of obedience training, KNOX relished in all the attention and rewards when he learned something new.
KNOX is now ready for another chance at finding the right family. He gets along great with dogs, and he'd be fine with older children. He definitely needs a good, fenced yard as leash walking will not be sufficient as exercise. The most important thing to keep in mind is his size and his strength. He loves other dogs, but when he plays, he plays hard. He can also be quite loving and affectionate.
